What's in it for you: Responsible for the installation, commissioning, diagnosis, repair, and start-up of HVAC systems, utilizing knowledge of air conditioning theory, pipe fitting, air distribution, controls and mechanical layouts. Additionally responsible for general construction trades as it pertains to installation of new construction HVAC equipment.
What you will do: - Responsible for assisting in the commissioning, diagnosis, repair, and start-up of HVAC systems, utilizing learned knowledge of air conditioning theory, pipe fitting, air distribution, controls and mechanical layouts.
- Responsible for planning, analyzing and timely completion of assigned projects and activities.
- Uses a variety of hand tools, along with interpreting construction drawings, plans, and specifications, in order to mount, hang, fit, and install equipment and systems.
- Ability to perform or learn the installation of conduit and electrical wiring, terminate wiring, mount equipment, install refrigerant piping, braze fittings and connections, weld and fit chilled water and hot water piping, groove piping, and assist in rigging large equipment.
- Must be able to follow directions given by Superintendent or Installation Technicians.
- Assists with keeping the job site safe and clean.
- Documents work by completing paperwork on each job, including daily time, progress, and duration; and maintaining files.
- Keeps current on Trane products concerning installation and operation of HVAC systems.
- Conducts oneself in a professional manner at all times.
- Understands that safety is core. Participates/performs in required safety trainings, meetings, and audits.
- Ensures compliance with internal contracting processes.
- Performs site surveys, replacements, modifications and start-up as needed or requested by customers.
- Prepares for on-site installation by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials and coordinating on-site work, and coordinating with other trades as necessary.
- Maintains assigned stock of inventory, company equipment, and documents all related activities.
- Records parts, material, labor, and other cost data per assignment and returns unused resources.
- Documents work by completing paperwork on each job, including daily time, progress, and duration; and maintaining files.
- Turns in all required paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
- Maintains tools and equipment by inspecting for signs of wear.
- Continually enforces safety to the highest standards and maintains security and accountability of company issued and procured assets by recording use, wear and conditions.
- Regular travel requirements with occasional overnight stays.
- Display team effort and dedication to customer by maintaining flexibility to work overtime and weeks as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays.
What you will bring: - A High School Diploma or equivalent required, and typically at least 6 months of experience in Commercial HVAC Installation. Technical School or formal training is preferred.
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with handheld computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad).
- Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
