Trane in [Customize location] ______ is hiring for a Senior Controls Engineering Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for hardware and software design activities for building automation systems. You will need to apply engineering principles and practices for work on assigned projects.  Designs cost effective control solutions to meet project requirements.  Works directly on the project team to assist the Project Manager and junior engineers.


 

What you will do:

  • Responsible for design and programming activities utilizing direct digital controls, electronic comfort control and automation systems.
  • Responsible for design of complex systems that require a high level of attention to detail.
  • Responsible for review and maintenance of engineering standards.
  • Must be able to analyze project financial restrictions and work to meet both the project and customer needs.
  • Acquire and maintain a mastery of Trane Controls products knowledge and offerings along with applicable 3rd party devices as a Subject matter expert in Trane controls.
  • Ability to field phone calls for support regarding the sale of projects as well as field installation per designed drawings.
  • Responsible to supervise/ advise and guide Engineers
  • Maintains customer satisfaction by working with the customer and internal team to overcome issues as they come up.


 

What you will bring:

  • Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Construction or Engineering Technology, or other related areas; or ten (10) plus years of experience in the HVAC industry performing project management or estimating roles; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Proficient with operation and design of HVAC Systems, Building Automation Systems, and/or Temperature Controls required.
  • Concrete understanding with concepts of new construction and renovation/retrofit, performance contracting, and service project management preferred.
  • Windows operating system and Microsoft Office product knowledge.
  • Experience with a drafting/ design program is required, experience drawing with Visio is a plus.
  • Experienced with ASHRAE and other guidelines pertain to building codes and limitations.
  • Firm understanding of industry standard protocol and requirements for integration.
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure and network architecture.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required.

  • [Remove if non-driving role] Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to: : DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
